About Us
Masoud Houshyari, owner and founder of Renaissance Rug Corporation, has had a passion for beautiful rugs his entire life. He travels the world in search of the finest hand-made rugs to offer to his retail and wholesale customers in the Seattle area. With his extensive international contacts, Masoud is able to acquire unique rugs not otherwise available in the U.S. and Europe.
Masoud arrived in the U.S. in 1984 and graduated from Seattle Pacific University, where he studied marketing and advertising. Active in the rug industry since 1986, Masoud was hired by Greenbaum Home Furnishings in 1991 as a rug buyer and department manager. He went on to start Medallion Rug Company in 1993, which he renamed Renaissance Rug Corporation in 2007. Today, in addition to running Renaissance Rug Corporation, Masoud is the sole vendor of rugs at Greenbaum and several other premier furniture stores in the Pacific Northwest. Masoud carries only high-quality, authentic and beautifully designed rugs that will give joy to his customers for years to come.
